Interview with Daniel Woods after his victory in ABS

Hi Daniel! Our congratulations with your victory in American Bouldering Series! Here are few questions to you from the readers of Baurock.ru:

Was it difficult to win? How difficult were the routes? And the other competitors? Was it hard to compete with them?
It was a fun comp. I was pretty psyched to climb with my friends from back east and Japan. The problems were not too difficult, but I am still working on problem #4.

What are your future plans for this year? What competitions are you planning to participate? What routes and where are you planning to climb?
I am competing in the US Adult Difficulty comp in March, then I hope to go to Bishop for the first time in April, and the Rocklands in South Africa this summer.

What was the best route that you climbed in 2005? Can you describe this route and your emotions when you did it?
Hmmm, I would have to say Flamignon in Hueco for boulders and Liv'n Astro in Rumney for routes. It is really fun to climb something that is hard and pushes your ability.

What do you think about your climbing level in comparison with the world leaders? Are you planning to take part in the world champ and world cups in 2006?
I hope to. I am planning to do the Youth World Championship in Austria this August, then maybe a World Cup in the Fall.

Are you planning to visit Moscow one day? May be this year?:)
That would be really cool. My friend Vasya has told me a lot about Russia. Someday!
